Inspire

You Write the Song is a creative group activity that uses music to reinforce key themes. Participants work together to write lyrics to popular songs based on meeting topics and content.

Learn

Music stimulates memory centers in the brain, enhancing participants’ ability to retain the subjects they are writing about.

Motivate

Facilitators teach band members how to play and work together as a team. Participants are energized and motivated by what their team can accomplish.

Perform

The activity culminates in a Battle of the Bands competition where teams perform their song for the rest of the group with an option to dress in rock star costumes.

How it Works

You Write The Song's emphasis is on collaboration, creativity and storytelling.
Led by experienced song writers, participants are formed into teams (bands).
Each team is assigned a song and provided the original lyrics. Teams are given a topic that fits the themes for the event and write new lyrics for the song, reinforcing key phrases and takeaways.
Following rehearsals each team takes the stage and performs their song backed by recorded music or live band.
Optional costumes are provided so participants can look and feel like rock stars!

What's Included

Teamwork, knowledge retention, and creative thinking are the focus of this engaging program.
Included is Rock the Stars’ award winning activity, facilitators, music and materials.
A live band brings added excitement and energy to any Rock the Stars activity. Our band of music industry pros has an extensive song list that covers multiple genres including rock, pop, dance, and country. In addition to supplying music for your activity, the band will stay on for an after party, performing a mix of current and classic hits. Includes sound system for up to 300 guests.
A room large enough to hold the group, electrical power and an optional stage is needed for the activity.
No prior musical experience required!
